A Life Imprisoned at Home: Walls Close In
The boundaries of my home used to feel like a refuge. Now they smother, a constant indication of my confined existence. Days merge into one another, marked only by the chime of the watch and the heavy weight in my chest. Every sound from outside is a painful echo of the life I left behind.

Surviving on Lockdown
Life as we knew it has drastically shifted. The world beyond our doors is a blur of its former self. We are now confined within the limits of our homes, forced to adapt to a new lifestyle. The days melt, marked by the rhythm of online meetings, binging media, and cooking. We long for the simple joys that home arrest were once assumed for granted: a hike in the park, a cup of tea with friends, or even just a conversation without a screen between us.
This new world has forced challenges, but it has also exposed unexpected capacities within ourselves and our communities. We have learned to be more understanding, more inventive, and more appreciative for the simple things in life. As we navigate this unknown territory, we must remain hopeful that brighter days are coming.
Just Beyond the Six-Foot Mark
Life behind bars is a brutal reality. Every day, you face restrictions that feel like an unbreakable wall. The world outside seems so reachable, yet it's separated by just a mere six feet.
Sometimes, the pressure of those bars feels insurmountable. You crave freedom with every fiber of your being. Each new day serves as a constant echo that you're imprisoned.
But even in the darkest moments, there's a gleam of hope. A hope that one day, you'll step over those bars and finally be free. That day might seem impossible, but it's a dream worth holding onto.
Chains of Liberty
The allure of freedom can be a tempting force. Yet, paradoxically, it can also lead to restriction. This manifests when the very notion for freedom becomes perverted, transforming into a weapon for control and oppression.
Authentic freedom requires not only the absence for external constraints but also the development of internal strength. When this inner base is lacking, even in a society that preaches freedom, individuals can find themselves trapped within the boundaries of their own beliefs.
Consequently, the true measure of freedom lies in our ability to break free the constraints that restrict our potential, both externally and internally.
